Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and business name. When you use Write-Off, we store your transaction data, receipt images, and tax categorizations. If you connect a bank account, we access transaction data through our banking partner Teller.

How We Use Your Data

Your financial data is used solely to provide the Write-Off service — tracking transactions, categorizing expenses, generating tax summaries, and matching receipts. We do not sell your data to third parties.

AI Processing

When you use the receipt scanning feature, receipt images are sent to AI providers (Anthropic or Google) for text extraction. Only the image data is sent — no other account information. AI providers do not retain your data for training purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services: Google OAuth for authentication, Teller for bank connectivity, Anthropic/Google for AI receipt scanning, and Neon for database hosting. Each operates under their own privacy policies.

Data Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Bank credentials are managed by Teller and never stored on our servers. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes all your data including transactions, receipts, and bank connections. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
